
Welcome to this episode featuring DJ, composer, music producer, community builder and hugger Jonny Seymour (AKA Seymour Butz). Jonny is also 50% of Stereogamous, the Sydney-based music-producing powerhouse formed with Paul Mac ; and has composed scores for theatre, fashion shows and exhibitions with the likes of The Sydney Theatre Company /ATYP, Force Majeure, Liveworks and David Jones to name a few.
In Paul’s chat with Jonny, we draw back the red velvet drape and take an in-depth look at how they** has become a leader and nurturer of the Queer scene through music. Jonny builds community through music and its music that is the common thread to their life.
We aren’t going to sugar-coat this – there are some raw and emotional moments in this episode as we journey through some of the highs and lows of Jonny’s journey. They generously share the challenges of growing up gay in Tasmania in the 80’s, we hear about how they were there at New York Fashion Week for September 11th – they also explain how their special brand of inclusive LGBTQ+ events were created out of the necessity of being excluded from the mainstream in the past.
